Is Your e-Commerce Site Getting it Right?

User behaviours are constantly changing to adhere to the newest technology. In turn, this has impacted the way people use the internet and how it is accessed.

An annual survey carried out by United Parcel Force revealed that consumers are now buying more online than in stores. The survey was carried out by 5,000 participants who make at least two online purchases in a three-month period.

According to the survey, shoppers made 51% of their purchases online last year (2016), compared to 48% in 2015 and 47% in 2014. As this continues to grow, so does the use of smartphones to access eCommerce websites – offering an easy way to encourage impulse purchases. The survey showed that 44% of smartphone users made purchases through their device, compared to 41% a year ago. Due to this, the rise in eCommerce websites have increased – constantly researching how to provide the best user experience.

Providing the Best User Experience (UX)...

Positive UX is key to engaging with your customers and getting them to stay on your website over your competitors. A successful eCommerce site will enable users to navigate around the website, finding exactly what they are looking for with ease.

Responsive Design

As we have mentioned, the rate that people access eCommerce websites via smartphones has increased. In order to follow current user behaviours, it is vital that your website is designed and built using a responsive template to provide the best UX for customers on all devices.

Be Present

With eCommerce websites, it is crucial to be as accessible and present as you would be during a high street shopping experience. Using bespoke online enquiry forms, we can ensure that you stay connected with your users and ready to answer any queries they may have.

Save Your Bounce Rate

As users, we can be impatient when it comes to page loading times. We have all been there waiting for a page to load, only to leave when it doesn’t load efficiently. Site speed improvements including browser caching, minifying CSS and compressing images can help to get people to your website and make them stay!
